Hi! I’m René Mijares

I’m an LA-based actor with a background in film, stand-up, and music.

I was born and raised in México and moved to the states when I was 10, living in TX, CA, MA for college, CT for graduate school, and now finally back in CA.

I’m comfortable across a vast range of characters and identities, but I thrive in those whose emotions, thoughts, and actions are in tension or–even better, in contradiction–with each other, whether it’s comedy, romance, or drama. My skills and passions lie in performance, writing, guitar, piano, and songwriting—in one word, storytelling.

My life experiences and my essence keep shaping me into a grounded, confident, and familiar on-screen presence as I continue to train while expanding my work in TV and film. Also I can cook a phenomenal steak and my main in Smash Bros Ultimate is Mario.
